How Teachers and School Staff Can Get Free Breakfast at McDonald's
McDonald's is showing its appreciation for educators and school staff by offering them free breakfast meals from October 11 to October 15. The promotion is part of the company's Thank You Meal program, which was launched last year to thank healthcare workers and first responders during the pandemic.
To get the free meal, McDonald's says the educators need to show a valid work ID at restaurant drive-thrus or at the counter. There's a limit of one per person during breakfast hours, which can vary by location, but usually end at 10:30 a.m. The entrÃe choices are an Egg McMuffin, a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit or a Sausage Biscuit. The meal also comes with a side of Hash Browns and any size hot brewed coffee or soft drink.
\"We know this school year has been anything but normal and we're grateful for the incredible work of teachers and school staff who continue to educate and inspire our children every day,\" said Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald's USA, in a press release. \"We're proud to serve them a hot and delicious breakfast to help start their day.\"
The Thank You Meal program is part of McDonald's larger commitment to supporting education and communities. The company also offers scholarships, tuition assistance, career advising and mentoring programs for students and employees. In addition, McDonald's has donated millions of meals to families in need through its partnership with No Kid Hungry.
Teachers and school staff can find more information about the free breakfast offer on the McDonald's website or app. They can also join the MyMcDonald's Rewards program to earn points on every order and redeem them for free McDonald's items.
McDonald's is not the only company that is recognizing the efforts of teachers and school staff during the challenging times. Other businesses and organizations have also offered discounts, freebies and grants to educators and schools. For example, Staples has given away $1 million worth of classroom supplies to teachers who are members of its Classroom Rewards program. Target has also offered a 15% discount on select classroom items to teachers who sign up for its Circle loyalty program. Furthermore, the National Education Association has provided grants of up to $5,000 to support public school educators who are implementing innovative learning projects.
Teachers and school staff have faced many difficulties and uncertainties due to the COVID-19 pandemic, such as adapting to online or hybrid learning models, ensuring the safety and well-being of students and themselves, and dealing with the emotional and mental stress of the situation. According to a survey by the RAND Corporation, about one in four teachers said they were likely to leave their profession by the end of the 2020-21 school year, citing low pay, lack of support and burnout as some of the reasons. Therefore, it is important to acknowledge and appreciate the dedication and resilience of educators and school staff who are making a difference in the lives of millions of children every day. ec8f644aee
